Castle Rock Ranch Trail Rides
Now Scheduling for the 2026 Season
About Us
Castle Rock Ranch is a 100-acre, family-owned regenerative ranch in Northern Idaho. On top of raising premium grass-finished beef, running a summer camp for girls, and hosting weddings and events, we are now offering trail rides! Our lush pasture borders the North Fork of the Coeur D’Alene river, and our property is surrounded by Panhandle National Forest. As you set out on horseback for an adventure, you will be surrounded by beautiful wilderness, yet we are just one hour from Coeur D’Alene and an hour and a half from Spokane. On your ride, you will get to enjoy breathtaking scenery, and learn how we sustainably work with our land.
What We Offer
We currently offer trail rides up our mountain trail, through our pasture, and along the river. The ride itself is two hours long with an additional half hour allotted at the beginning for introductions, waiver signing, and equipment fitting. There will be plenty of gorgeous photo opportunities as you look over the ranch from our forested hillside. You will even get to stop for a break in the shade at the top of the mountain. On the pasture part of the ride, you can partake in an agricultural tour and chat about our cattle, management intensive grazing, and what they love most in life… grass! We take pride in our commitment to managing a healthy pasture and riparian ecosystem and a happy herd of grass-finished cows. We look forward to sharing our passion for this work with you.
Before you book your ride, please note that all riders must be below 250 lbs and over 10 years old. All rides are limited to 4 riders for now but we may be able to take bigger groups further into the summer. For any family members who do not want to ride, we offer free fishing or swimming/lounging on our 1/2 mile stretch of river. For details on what to bring, please review our FAQ page. We can’t wait to see you at the ranch!
